Day 18 - Alright, so it's been awhile since I posted. Only a day and a half left! (yes, for those counting, we are not going the full 21 days...) I think my biggest frustration has been getting bored with the smoothies in the morning and evening; I'm just plain tired of them! My advice is to make sure to have as much variety as you can find in your meals. Too bad the soups were so awful, which we stopped in the evening.
(a big congrats to J + B for finishing this out!! and, for paving the way for the rest of us. whoo-hooo, bring on the BLT! - D + M)
Day 7 - Down to 168 lbs! That's 6.5 lbs lost this week. Not sure how real it is, but I'll take it for now.
Day 6 - I have to admit, not feeling real great today, and it doesn't seem like the cold. Seems like the change in diet is bothering me. But made it through the day. Salmon and quinoa at lunch was helpful, felt like a real meal. And I was especially proud to go to a movie tonight and not get anything, like popcorn or soda. Can't wait to cheat tomorrow night with Jen!!!
Day 5 - So far, so good. I ain't gonna lie: I'm started to miss my old food a lot! Those that know me well won't be surprised, but what I miss most is bread! (I thought it would be soda, but it's not) But at the same time it hasn't been that bad. We've done well with following the normal diet of smoothies in the morning, chicken or lamb at lunch, and a smoothie or soup at night. Looking forward to getting some fish into the diet tomorrow. The worst "cheating" I have done was one Lucky Charm marshmello from Ellie. The guy from the Outside article was right: I'm defintely peeing like a Russian race horse! (I know, TMI) Not sure I should admit this, but Jen and I have a plan to take a night off on Sunday, so looking forward to that!
Day 1 (Mon Jan 3) - Started the day at 174.5 lbs (note, I started vacation at 170...) Not too bad, had a decent smoothie in the morning, chicken and quinoa (very tasty!) for lunch, and some butternut squash soup for dinner (not so great). Some nuts and sunflower seeds through the day. It's probably good that I have such a bad cold because I feel lousy anyway and can't blame it on the cleanse! Jen has been a rock star with preparing the meals. I definitely could not do this without her!
1/1 - Feeling mixed emotions. Defintely excited about doing this and curious how it will feel in three weeks. But dreading not having soda and snacking at night. I also think it will be hard to follow during lunchtime as my schedule can get difficult, especially when traveling between offices. Good thing we are going out with a bang tomorrow at Buffalo Wild Wings!
